CET defies turmoil with profit surge

February 11, 2025

CET’s overseas division posted record growth despite global uncertainty, leveraging innovation and resilience.

CET Group, the China-based office imaging component manufacturer, reported a 9% rise in overseas revenue and an 8% increase in profit in 2024, defying economic turbulence and heightened competition in the sector.

In a speech titled “Breaking Conventions, Reimagining Possibilities”, CET president Steven Ma acknowledged the geopolitical and economic challenges that shaped the past year, citing global conflicts, artificial intelligence advancements, and supply chain volatility. He credited the company’s success to strategic agility, innovation, and a decade-long commitment to brand excellence and technology leadership.

CET’s investment in research and development underpinned its growth, with the company launching integrated copier fusers, developer units, and new PCR dip-coating technology. It also introduced solid-state water foaming production lines and double-layer blades, positioning itself for sustained leadership over the next three to five years.

The company’s progress comes against a backdrop of intensifying domestic competition, described by Ma as China’s economic “Rat Race”—a market landscape increasingly defined by rapid transformation and pressure to innovate. “In today’s rapidly evolving economy, only visionary enterprises thrive,” he said. “Those that invest in R&D, prioritise sustainable partnerships, and contribute to societal progress will endure.”

CET faced its own financial hurdles early in the year when one of its subsidiaries struggled with existential risks. However, by September 2024, the division had recovered, resolving its accounts receivable issues and finishing the year as a top performer in both sales and profitability.

Looking ahead to CET’s 29th anniversary in 2025, Ma expressed confidence in the company’s trajectory. “As we approach our 29th anniversary, we stand ready to redefine possibilities in 2025. With courage and confidence, we’ll embrace the unknown, knowing that every effort propels CET forward. Together, let us anticipate the magic of CET’s 30th year and beyond,” he said.
