Canon’s Liebman makes PowerList again
March 12, 2019
Canon USA’s Executive Vice President, Seymour Liebman, has been named on the Long Island Press PowerList for the seventh successive year.
Liebman, the OEM’s Executive Vice President, as well as Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel, has been named in the Rainmaker category on the PowerList, which annually recognises Long Island’s “most influential and impactful leaders” from a range of industries.
It is the seventh consecutive year that both Liebman and Canon USA have been recognised for their part in Long Island’s innovation economy.
“The Long Island Press PowerList is truly a distinguished honour, and I am extremely grateful to be recognised among Long Island’s most respected and successful leaders once again,” said Liebman. “Canon USA is committed to being a leader in technological and digital imaging innovation, and this recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our incredible team. As a company, we are laser focused on providing quality products and creating new solutions to meet our customers’ needs now and for generations to come.”
“I would like to extend my very best wishes to all of this year’s honourees and I sincerely thank the Long Island Press for this prestigious award,” Liebman added.
In 2017, Liebman was inducted into the Long Island Press PowerList Hall of Fame, an honour which acknowledges the select few who have been named to the PowerList at least five times. Liebman is responsible for legal affairs and corporate administration functions for Canon USA, and currently serves as Chairman of BriefCam, Ltd., a Canon group company, which provides solutions for rapid review and search of surveillance video. He is also Senior Managing Executive Officer of Canon Inc., the Japan-based parent company of Canon USA.
In addition to his roles at Canon USA and Canon Inc., Liebman also serves as a board member for various local councils and associations, including the Touro Law Centre, on which he serves on the Board of Governors; the Information Technology Industry Council; and the Council of Overseers for the Tilles Centre. Liebman also serves as Vice Chairman of the Long Island Association.
Now in its 16th year, the Long Island Press PowerList recognises some of Long Island’s most influential figures throughout the fields of business, politics, education, healthcare and not-for-profit. Members of the list are selected from hundreds of potential candidates and are deemed as honourees based on their contributions to Long Island and their impact on the Island over the past year.
