Canon, Ogilvy team up in Malaysia

Canon Marketing Malaysia has appointed Ogilvy Malaysia as its new PR manager, with the OEM hoping for increased brand influence across its corporate, consumer and business divisions over the next year.

The PR firm displayed a “deep understanding” of the Canon brand and the company’s future direction, according to Patrick Lim, the Head of Corporate Communications for Canon Marketing Malaysia. The firm also showed it could handle a “multiple approach PR outreach” of strategic communications planning, when corresponding with both consumers and business customers, according to Marketing Interactive.

“What our customers know about us – our brand and product offerings – matters to us greatly,” detailed Lim. “Ogilvy is working with us to reflect this.”

David Mayo, the CEO of Ogilvy and Mather Malaysia, declared: “We have worked with the team at Canon on assembling the best, seamless ideas backed by a strong team within our Influence division to deliver on these.”

Canon Marketing Malaysia recently appointed Society, a social media and digital content agency, to develop its strategic and holistic digital marketing solutions across its B2B/B2C offerings.
