Canon launches the imageRUNNER C1530 series
March 15, 2021
Canon Europe announced the imageRUNNER C1530 series, which it said is designed to drive collaboration and support digital transformation in today’s hybrid working reality.
The imageRUNNER C1533iF and C1538iF A4 colour multifunctional devices offer tools for collaboration and can seamlessly integrate into multiple working environments, from satellite hubs to small or medium sized offices, or as an integral part of a fleet of office devices.
KeyPoint Intelligence predicts that in 2021 the new style of work will be a hybrid of home and office spaces. This hybrid environment, including remote or shared workspaces, will drive demand for A4 devices which the imageRUNNER C1530 series is well placed to meet, Canon said. The devices build on Canon’s A4 heritage, which will soon be further expanded with an upcoming addition to the imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX line-up.
The imageRUNNER C1530 series offers optional cloud connectivity, enabled by Canon’s cloud-based solution, uniFLOW Online. The solution allows the devices to connect cloud-storage destinations such as Dropbox and OneDrive. Furthermore, uniFLOW Online provides a single platform to connect all working locations, including the ‘My Print Anywhere’ feature which allows the user to securely access and release print jobs from any device connected to the cloud service.
The imageRUNNER C1530 Series offers the ability to personalise document processes. The devices can rapidly digitise paper documents with fast, one-pass double-sided scanning, whilst smart scanning features – powered by Optical Character Recognition – cut down the need for manual data entry by automatically extracting information from paper documents. Features like Filing Assist, which uses pre-configured workflows to scan batches of repetitive documents, allow users to input that information directly into workflow software.
The imageRUNNER C1530 series also supports simpler IT management for hybrid working, with native compatibility with Universal Print by Microsoft and uniFLOW Online.
Universal Print by Microsoft makes device set up and maintenance easier for devices by moving print infrastructure to the cloud, eliminating the need for onsite driver management. Meanwhile, uniFLOW Online offers centralised cloud-based print management of a device fleet, no matter where they are based, including control over costs, intelligent auditing, budgeting, and reporting.
The imageRUNNER C1530 series offers inbuilt McAfee Embedded Control, in addition to Canon’s Verify System at Startup which guards against advanced threats and data loss by blocking unauthorised applications. Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) support real-time threat detection and security incident response, while Secure Print and Encrypted PDF functions users can protect document and data confidentiality with confidence.
Hiro Imamura, Vice President Marketing, Document Solutions Group, Canon Europe said: “As co-working spaces increase in popularity, businesses are looking for compact solutions which truly empower collaboration whilst ensuring security standards are withheld. The imageRUNNER C1533iF and C1538iF expand on our award-winning A4 range and are perfectly equipped to meet these evolving workplace needs.”
