Canon’s Middle Eastern subsidiary has launched a new e-commerce platform in the Middle East, in order to bring its products “closer to customers.”
Trade Arabia reports that the store will feature more than 450 products, including printers, office equipment, and cameras, as well as official Canon merchandise including clothing and travel accessories. E-Commerce in the United Arab Emirates has been predicted by analysts to become a $10 billion business this year, with the sector seen as one of the fastest-growing in the region. According to the PwC survey, nearly half of people responding admitted to preferring online shopping to traditional retail, due to “a wider product selection, and overall convenience,” as well as for the “superior customer service.”
“The launch of our new e-store is a major step that will bring our products and merchandise even closer to our customers in the UAE,” said Anurag Agarwal, Canon Middle East’s Managing Director. “Online shopping is growing in popularity in the region, and this launch symbolises our commitment to make the Canon experience enjoyable for our customers from the very start.”
According to Trade Arabia, “the product assortment offered at the e-store reflects Canon’s commitment to creating products bundles with higher values as well as tailored offerings for different audience demographics,” and the products on offer will ‘fuel the interests’ of digital-savvy shoppers.
“Consumers are our core, and with the launch of the website, we are now uniquely positioned to curate the very best of our products alongside an array of merchandise,” explained the OEM’s B2C business unit director, Venkatasubramanian Hariharan. “Our vision with this launch is to make it easy to find the most compelling products to inspire Canon users and help them create their own stories and memories.”
