Canon EMEA President visits Kenya
February 27, 2019
The President and CEO of Canon EMEA, Yuichi Ishizuka, has paid a visit to Kenya during his tour of Africa, reinforcing the OEM’s “commitment to drive innovation” in the country.
As revealed by CNBCAfrica, Africa represents a “fast-developing market” for the company, with Kenya in particular described as a “key market” with a projected GDP growth of 5.8 percent posited for this year by the World Bank.
“There are several growth opportunities for Canon in Africa and Kenya in particular, as we see it as a gateway to the African continent. The country is on an upward trajectory and witnessing positive transformations that will establish it as a regional business hub. I am honoured to come and see this progress myself as well as assess market dynamics, and better understand our customers’ needs. I would also like to appreciate the amazing job done by our locally based Canon members in enhancing our presence in both consumer as well as business segments in Kenya,” said Ishizuka.
Canon has already implemented a number of initiatives in Kenya, such as the Miraisha Sustainability Programme, which encapsulates the OEM’s ‘Kyosei’ business philosophy.
Canon says it will continue “expanding its reach for all the product ranges in the market” and will also “support its local partners to gain a larger market share in both the business and consumer segments”.
