Canon continues with Amazon listing removals

The OEM announced that it requested the removal of toner cartridges offered by Misericordia Cueva Molina via Amazon in Spain and the UK, by fhqkd from Amazon Mexico and by Standard image co ltd from Amazon USA.

Canon Inc. announced that it filed Report Infringement Forms with Amazon.es and Amazon.co.uk based on the alleged use of claims 1 of the Spanish and UK portions of Canon’s European Patent EP 2 137 577 (“EP ‘577”) regarding certain models of toner cartridges offered by Misericordia Cueva Molina under the following ASINs (Amazon Standard Identification Numbers).

Afterwards, Amazon took down the respective products.

These products are compatible with the respective OEM HP cartridge models and provide inter alia a non-OEM housing, a non-OEM developing roller, as well as a non-OEM coupling member comprising a rotating force receiving portion and a rotating force transmitting portion according to claim 1 of EP ‘577.

Canon also announced the filing of an infringement report with Amazon.mx seeking the removal of Amazon.mx listings for certain toner cartridges sold by fhqkd for use in HP laser beam printers.

After receiving Canon’s Report Infringement Form, Amazon removed the respective products, and at the time of this announcement, the above-identified listings of fhqkd were no longer available on Amazon.mx.

Canon also filed an infringement report with Amazon.com seeking the removal of Amazon.com listings for certain toner cartridges sold by Standard image co ltd for use in HP laser beam printers.

Canon’s infringement report alleged that certain model CC530A, CC531A, CC532A, CC533A, CF380X, CF381A, CF382A and CF383A toner cartridges sold by Standard image co ltd via Amazon.com infringed Canon’s U.S. Patent No. 8,588,646. Canon requested that Amazon remove standard image co ltd’s listings for those products, namely, standard image co ltd’s listings with Amazon Standard Identification Numbers (“ASINs”) B085DFNR8D, B07W6MKQXD, B07W7P8YD6 and B085DMW71Q.

At the time of this announcement, the above-identified Standard image co ltd listings were no longer available on Amazon.com.
