Canon aids Japanese relief efforts

The OEM has donated ¥10 million ($90, 130/€76, 819) to assist victims of the recent torrential rainfall in Japan.
Beginning in July, Canon explained, heavy rainfall centred mainly on western Japan has been causing extensive damage and loss of life.
The OEM said it would like to extend heartfelt condolences to all those affected by this disaster and went on, “our thoughts go out to those suffering in its aftermath.”
Canon also commented, “While we realise that the road to recovery will be challenging and time-consuming, we hope that the region will soon be able to begin the rebuilding and healing process.”
To aid in the relief efforts for the victims, Canon Inc. is making a donation of ¥10 million (approximately US$ 90,130/€76, 819) to the fund-raising organisation Central Community Chest of Japan and the NPO Japan Platform.
Additionally, the Canon Marketing Japan Group is making a donation of ¥3 million (approximately US$ 27,039/€23, 050) to Japan Platform.
