Business booming in Cambodia for Epson
January 18, 2018
The South-East Asian nation’s economy is flourishing, which is music to the ears of the Japanese OEM.
Epson has launched a range of new product lines in Cambodia, and the OEM has celebrated the release by singing the praises of the kingdom, where its sales grew by 40 percent last year, reports The Khmer Times.
“In terms of sales, we’ve been very successful in Cambodia,” said Yunyong Muneemongkoltorn, Epson’s general manager in neighbouring Thailand. Speaking at a conference in Phnom Penh, he called the nation an ideal place for business, due to its booming economy.
“Cambodia saw a strong growth in terms of GDP and its economy is expected to grow by 7 percent this year, so the country is an attractive market for investors and tourists around the world,” he elaborated.
The expanding economy is driving the demand for technological investment, Yungyong added, “with demand for printers, projectors, and scanners for office use increasing fast.”
In 2017, the OEM sold twenty million units of its L-series printers worldwide, with 70 percent of sales coming in the ASEAN region. New models in the L-series have been launched in Cambodia this week.
“We hope businesses in Cambodia, from SMEs to bigger businesses, will benefit from our range of products,” said Yunyong, “and we will keep bringing new products and technology into the market.”
