Brother’s sales revenue increases 4% YoY
February 1, 2022
The company said that the revenue increased mainly due to good performance in the machinery business, and business segment profits decreased due to “a significant increase in logistics costs and parts and materials costs.”
Sales revenue for the third quarter of fiscal year 2021 was ¥184.5 billion ($1.61 billion/ €1.43 billion), a year-on-year (YoY) increase of 4%. For the nine months period, ended 31 December 2022, sales revenue was ¥535 billion ($4.7 billion/ €4.14 billion).
The P&S business segment recorded sales revenues of ¥114.9 billion ($1 billion/ €890 million), up ¥57 million ($497 million/ €441 million) on the same period in the previous year. Brother explained that in its Printing & Solutions Business Segment (P&S) it recorded an increase in revenue for the recording period, but this is mainly due to foreign exchange effects. For the nine months period, ended 31 December 2022, sales revenue for the P&S business segment was ¥320.1 billion ($2.8 billion/ €2.5 billion), an increase of ¥329 million ($2.9 million/ €2.5 million) YoY.
Forecasts for the full year sales revenue have been revised upwards to ¥700 billion ($6.1 billion/ €5.4 billion), however the sales revenue forecast for the P&S business segment remained unchanged.
