Brother UK sets on sustainability
September 2, 2019
The OEM has created a new full time position for a Sustainable Development Coordinator.
Dealer Support reported that Gemmer Crozier has been appointed to the newly established role. Crozier will be working with channel partners and their customers to improve their knowledge of how Brother solutions and services can support a greener business.
Crozier started her career at Brother as an apprentice after her college education.
According to Dealer Support Crozier will be “collaborating with Brother’s recycling facility in Ruabon, Wales, to encourage more of Brother UK’s business customers to use and recycle Brother print cartridges.”
In the year to March 2019, more than 145,000 toner cartridges were returned to Brother by UK customers free of charge, up three percent on the previous 12-months.
Talking about her new role, Crozier said: “Sustainability is part of Brother’s DNA. It’s the foundation on which we grow our business, while being a key consideration when developing new products and solutions. It’s fast becoming a necessary requirement for our channel partners’ common success too. We’ve supported some resellers on tenders where up to 40 percent of the total score was owed to responsible business practices.
“It will be incredibly rewarding to be helping organisations and individuals to recycle more, reduce waste and become more energy efficient – each of which are imperative to modern businesses. Since joining as an apprentice five years ago, Brother has supported my career development at every step, and I can’t wait for what this new role brings,” she added.
