Brother sales revenue flat YoY
November 7, 2023
The company has announced its second quarter consolidated financial results, recording flat sales revenue year-on-year.
Sales revenue for the quarter was ¥199.2 billion ($13.25 billion/ €12.4 billion), with a business segment profit up 57.7% at ¥176 million ($1.17 million/ €1.095 million). Brother explained that “business segment profit was up substantially, mainly due to higher consumables sales and effects of price adjustments in the P&S business”.
Brother added: “Despite lower sales revenue due to effects on the Machinery business from sluggish market conditions in China and lower hardware sales in the P&S business, sales revenue was flat year-on-year as a result of positive FX effects.”
In its Printing & Solutions business segment, total sales revenue was ¥121.6 billion ($809 million/ €757 million).
Looking forward, Brother adjusted its full year forecasts. The forecast for sales revenue was revised downward and the forecast for profit remains unchanged as a whole.
