Brother reports fall in revenue

The OEM has released its consolidated results for the fiscal year which ended 31 March 2019.

Brother reported the results on 8 May 2019 showing its total revenue the fiscal year which ended 31 March 2019 was ¥683.972 million ($6.162 million/ € 5.503 million) which was down 4.1 percent for the same reporting period of the previous fiscal year.

This in line with its latest report in February on the nine months ending 31 December 2018. Like in this previous report the operating profit is on the rise, up 4.7 percent on the previous year.

The printing segment contributed a total revenue of ¥403.036 million ($3.630 million/ €3.241 million), which is down on the previous year’s revenue of ¥412.165 million ($3,743 million/ €3.343 million) but with an operating profit of ¥52.903 million ($476,604/ €425,603), which is up on the previous year’s ¥47.353 million ($430,112/ €384,062).

Looking forward to the fiscal year ending 31 March 2020, Brother is forecasting a 0.9 percent growth of revenue to ¥690 million with a slightly down operating profit of ¥65 million, down 9.6 percent from fiscal year which ended 31 March 2019.
