Brother Industries, Ltd. has been named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Hardcopy Remanufacturing 2025 Vendor Assessment.
This IDC MarketScape evaluates hardcopy vendors that provide remanufactured devices and/or consumables to the worldwide marketplace, positioning them into four categories -Leaders, Major Players, Contenders, and Participants. Brother was recognized for strengths in knowledge base and resources; ecodesign, dual toner and ink offerings, ample capacity and sustainability.
According to the IDC MarketScape report, “Brother is currently the only hardware manufacturer to have a fully certified remanufacturing program for both its inkjet and toner consumables.”
Since 2004, Brother has remanufactured and recycled over 40 million cartridges globally. In 2024, the company expanded into inkjet cartridge remanufacturing in Europe, applying its reuse-first design approach.
“Every cartridge we remanufacture meets the same standards as a new one but with a lower environmental impact,” said Juan Carot, Senior Project Manager at Brother’s UK facility in Ruabon. “We believe this IDC MarketScape recognition reflects our continued investment in scalable, high-quality remanufacturing.”
Brother Industries (U.K.) Ltd.’s Circular Technology Centre is the Brother Group’s core facility that recycles toner cartridges and designs and develops recyclable toner cartridges in collaboration with facilities in the US and Japan. (BISK) recycles Brother’s toner cartridges that are sold primarily in Europe. BISK’s accomplishments and development expertise are shared in Japan, the US, and other countries to help raise the technological standards of the Brother Group.
