Blue Planet Ink expands self-erasing ink range

The company has announced new additions to its self-erasing ink offering for use in Epson printers.

Blue Planet Ink released new Paper Saver self-erasing inks for Epson EcoTank/SuperTank printers. The replacement inks, 103, 104, and 522, are a new formulation optimised for the specific printers that use Epson inks of the same numbers.

“It takes a long time to develop a new self-erasing ink that works well in printers that were designed for regular ink,” said Carl Yee, President of Blue Planet Ink. “But the effort pays off in paper waste reduction.”

Paper Saver ink is a purple-coloured ink that prints on normal paper and disappears after a few days so the paper can be reused. The same paper can be re-used indefinitely. With exposure to air the ink absorbs carbon dioxide and water vapor and undergoes a chemical reaction which lowers its pH. As the pH drops the dye in the ink becomes colourless.
