Biscom unveils new apps for HP MFPs
March 19, 2019
Biscom has announced it will be unveiling three new applications for HP Multifunction Printers (MFP) running the JetAdvantage App’s platform.
The applications aim to make workflows more productive and protect confidentiality by managing the scanning, sending, receiving, processing, and printing of documents directly on an MFP device without using a computer. The Biscom apps for HP’s JetAdvantage App’s provide users easy viewing of sent and received documents from a colour display panel, while maintaining security and control.
Biscom’s new apps for HP JetAdvantage Apps include:
- Biscom FAX for JetAdvantage – Enables authenticated users to scan, preview and fax documents, and access authorised lists of recipient fax numbers, eliminating the need for a fax card in the MFP or a phone line. Authenticated users can also view and print received faxes.
- Biscom Digital Fax for JetAdvantage – Enables authenticated users to scan high-resolution, colour documents and send them digitally via a secure cloud service, eliminating the need for and expense of telephone lines. Received high quality documents can be viewed securely on the colour display panel and optionally printed or forwarded. For example, a lab report or medical record containing colour images can be sent securely from a hospital EHR system to a Jet Advantage MFP at another location.
- Biscom SFT for JetAdvantage – Enables authenticated users to scan large and confidential documents and send them to recipients as a single secure encrypted delivery. Unlike email or most file sharing services, all delivery activity is permanently logged for regulatory compliance purposes.
To support confidentiality for regulatory compliance, user authentication can be enabled at the device with a badge scan or password. In addition, Biscom SFT and Digital Fax apps for JetAdvantage encrypt documents in transit and at rest.
“Working with HP, we are extending the capability of an MFP and enabling workers to get more done in less time,” according to Charlie Magliato, Vice President of Channels at Biscom. “These new apps secure document exchange by eliminating paper faxes sitting in open trays, replacing insecure email to send confidential information, and providing a secure digital interface to view and share high-quality documents.”
“Biscom, a leader in secure document delivery and an HP partner for 20 years, is in the vanguard of developers for the JetAdvantage App’s program,” according to Paul Birkett, Director Worldwide Workflow Solutions at HP. “With their experience we are excited to provide easy access to their powerful cloud platform on our MFP devices to expedite and secure clinical workflows.”
All three Biscom HP JetAdvantage Apps will be available soon from HP resellers.
