Awards roll in for Canon
February 13, 2019
The OEM is celebrating the receipt of several honours, from both Keypoint Intelligence – Buyers Lab (BLI) and iF Design.
Canon received two accolades from BLI, being recognised in the Outstanding Workgroup Scanners and Outstanding Personal MFPs Categories, for the imageFORMULA DR-C225 W II and imageCLASS MF260, respectively.
The imageFORMULA DR-C225W II wireless office document scanner is described by Canon as “ideal for converting paper-based documents to digital files, offering the flexibility and high-image quality expected from Canon devices.” Users are provided with a three-year Advanced Exchange limited warranty, with eCarePAK options available to extend service beyond the initial warranty period.
Keypoint Intelligence’s editor of scanner/software evaluation, Lee Davis, said: “The Canon imageFORMULA DR-C225W II device provides workgroups with a highly reliable, easy-to-use wireless scanner that doesn’t take up much space. In addition to its flawless performance during Buyers Lab’s 7,500-scan reliability test, the device created some of the smallest file sizes in its competitive group. This is particularly important for workgroups that rely on cloud services that charge a premium for storage.”
The imageCLASS MF260 product series, meanwhile, claims to “help increase user productivity while supporting mobile workflows. Each solution in the series boasts a print speed of up to 30 pages-per-minute and provides native support for mobile workflows including Canon PRINT Business, Apple AirPrint, Mopria Print Service and Google Cloud Print.”
“The black-and-white models contribute to Canon’s continued dedication to revolutionising today’s workplace with features ideal to suit small and home office users,” the OEM added.
“All of the models in the imageCLASS MF260 family offer outstanding ease of use in a compact, affordable design, said Keypoint Intelligence Senior Test Technician Tony Maceri. “Despite a low upfront cost, the imageCLASS MF260 series includes features like automatic duplexing, intuitive menus to quickly and easily programme jobs, support for mobile print apps, and a standard wireless interface. They’re great, little desktop MFPs that are ideal for low-volume users.”
“Both the imageFORMULA and imageCLASS product lines are well-suited for individuals or workgroups looking to increase efficiency and productivity in their document processes,” says Shinichi Yoshida, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Canon USA. “We are honoured to receive this recognition in two categories that are largely influential in helping today’s entrepreneurial spirits bring their ideas to action in the home office and beyond.”
The OEM was also celebrating recognition at the iF Design Awards, for the 25th year in succession. The awards, which have been running since 1953, celebrate “outstanding industrial designs” from across the world, in seven categories: Product, packaging, communication, interior architecture, professional concept, service design/UX and architecture.
Canon’s PIXMA TR4500/TS3100/TS200 Series of inkjet printers was among nine of the company’s product groups to be honoured, including digital cameras, binoculars, and its imagePROGRAF PRO-6000 / PRO-4000 / PRO-2000
large-format inkjet printers.
“Encouraged by the recognition of the Company’s design excellence, Canon will continue striving to realize products that combine the highest levels of performance and design,” the OEM declared.
