Apex announces new chips

April 9, 2018

The company has released new versions of replacement chips for HP CF500 series, replacement chips for Canon CRG-052 series and replacement chips for Epson P6000 series.

The range of new version replacement chips announced are for use with the HP CF5000 series printers. The chip maker stated that “Apex found that newly produced printers use with CF500/510 series cartridges has made hardware upgrades, which results the replacement chips are unrecognized by its corresponding printers produced after January 2018. Meanwhile, the printer prompts “Supply Memory Error”. Products (CF530/540) of the same series might be update soon.”

In response to hardware upgrades of newly produced printers, Apex launched updated replacement chips for HP CF500 series. To meet the new printer hardware data validation rules, the new solution sets two corresponding “keys” in the chip data to match the printer data verification. In addition, the update solution can normally work with both the old and new printers, without fear of “Supply Memory error”.

The new version replacement chips are for use in HP LaserJet Pro M254dw/254nw, HP LaserJet Pro M280nw, HP LaserJet Pro M281fdw/281fdn, HP Colour LaserJet Pro M254nw/254dw, HP Colour LaserJet Pro MFP M280nw, HP Colour LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw/281fdn, HP LaserJet Pro M154nw/154a, HP LaserJet Pro M180nw/180n, HP LaserJet Pro M181fw, HP Colour LaserJet Pro MFP M181fw and HP Colour LaserJet Pro MFP M180n.

The second announcement was a new range of SoC designed chips for use in the Canon CRG-052 series printers.

Canon released a new series of imageCLASS monochrome laserjet printers and MFPs in March 2018. The new series are designed for small-to-medium sized business, the print speed up to 40 ppm. It is available to add an extra paper tray, as well as the function of mobile printing capability and Wi-Fi direct connectivity.

The newly released chips are for use in Canon imageCLASS LBP214dw/215dw, Canon imageCLASS MF426dw/424dw/429dw, Canon i-SENSYS LBP212dw/214dw/215x and Canon i-SENSYS MF421dw/426dw/428x/429x.

The third new range released are ASIC design replacement chips for Epson P6000 series printers.

The chips are for use in Epson SureColor P6000/P7000/P8000/P9000, Epson SureColor P6080/P7080/P8080/P9080 and Epson SureColor SC-P10080/P20080 printers.
