Aon and HP team up
April 13, 2018
HP has announced a new partnership with professional services firm Aon, which will offer a brand new security solution.
The solution was unveiled in Las Vegas this week, at the OEM’s Executive Forum, and reportedly offers not only “hardware-level protection, but also risk assessment and remediation, rapid incident response, and enhanced cyber insurance coverage,” according to IT World Canada.
It will be available across all of HP’s device-as-a-service offerings, and multiple different operating systems, from Autumn of this year; currently it is only scheduled to be released in the USA but with global availability in the pipeline.
Christoph Schell, the OEM’s president for the Americas region, said: “Corporate IT customers are grappling with unprecedented complexity across their organisations, often struggling to manage the proliferation of device types, operating systems and security threats across the enterprise. HP is stepping up with industry-leading services that solve these problems and unlock value.”
“Combining Aon’s deep cybersecurity capabilities and risk management solutions with HP’s world-class security features and device management capabilities through HP DaaS further enhances our ability to meet changing customer needs,” he added.
HP predicts that within two years, the number of commercial devices in use worldwide will reach nine billion – four devices per user, on average. This creates a massive rise in cybersecurity needs, and will cause added costs and complexity for businesses. The OEM is therefore hoping that the new solution will help increase efficiency and productivity, without sacrificing security standards.
“The comprehensive solution that we are jointly developing is unique in providing enterprises with the holistic approach needed to manage the technical aspects of endpoint security and business continuity, while improving overall security posture, and minimising financial exposure with options for enhanced coverage,” explained Aon COO John Bruno.
The solution will include assessment tools, that will evaluate a company’s cybersecurity offer and provide recommendations for improvement, as well as a cyber insurance panel, enabling companies “to qualify for enhanced cyber insurance coverage through access to Aon’s comprehensive broking resources. In addition, the Aon Incident Response Services will provide access to Aon’s incident response team, in the event of an attack.
