Another three Staples to close

Another trio of branches of the beleaguered office retail giant have announced they are to bring down the shutters for the final time.
The Verona Road branch in Madison, Wisconsin, will close for good on August the 3rd, according to Channel 3000, whilst the outlet at the Metropolitan Shopping Centre in Charlotte, North Carolina, is due to cease trading on the 13th of July, the Charlotte Observer reports. Additionally, the downtown branch in Santa Barbara, California, will also close by the 20th of July, reports edhat.
“We continually evaluate our store performance to ensure we’re operating the business in the best way,” said a company spokesperson. “As customers shift online, we are taking aggressive action to right-size our retail footprint.”
In recent months, this “aggressive action” has seen the closures of branches in New Jersey, Nebraska, Indiana, and Pennsylvania, as well as the lay-off of hundreds of staff.
