All change at Canon Oceania
February 16, 2018
The OEM has waved goodbye to one Managing Director and welcomed in a new one.
Canon Oceania has revealed that Akira ‘Dave’ Yoshida will become its new Managing Director, replacing the outgoing Yusuke Mizoguchi, according to CRN.
Mizoguchi will take on a new, as-yet-undisclosed role at Canon Europe, having held the MD post at Canon Oceania since 2015. Both he and Yoshida will officially take up their new positions in April, until when Mizoguchi will assist his successor and the senior leadership team during a transition phase.
Yoshida, who previously served as General Manager of Laser Printing at the OEM’s Japan headquarters, as well as stints with the US and Canadian divisions, said: “I look forward to commencing my new role in Australia, and am eager to meet our talented employees and work with our valued customers and partners. I am excited to continue the magnificent work of Mr. Mizoguchi in this region.”
Mizoguchi was responsible for leading Canon Oceania’s diversification strategy, including the acquisitions of Harbour IT and Converga, and the implementation of various community and sustainability initiatives. Prior to his role in Oceania, he was Managing Director for Canon New Zealand between 2011 and 2015, and also had earlier spells with the OEM’s USA and Germany divisions.
“My journey here has been very rewarding and I have met and worked alongside many fantastic people,” Mizugochi said, bidding farewell. “As I hand the reins over to Mr Yoshida, Canon will continue our focus on delivering on our commitments to Canon Oceania customers, consumers, partners and employees, who are at the heart of everything we do.”
