2020 marks end of Google Cloud Print
November 26, 2019
Google sent a notice to its users, telling them the Google Cloud Print service will no longer be supported, effective 31 December 2020.
In an email to its Google Cloud Print users, Google writes: “We’re writing to let you know that Google Cloud Print, our cloud-based printing solution that has been in beta since 2010, will no longer be supported as of December 31,2020.”
As of 1 January 2021, users will no longer be able to print using Google Cloud Print and are urged to look for alternative solutions. “We encourage you to use each operating system’s native printing capabilities and/or partner with a print solutions provider”, the email states.
Google is offering Chrome users alternatives which also work for its Chromebooks and any other device that uses its Chrome OS. Android phones can use alternative Apps for printing requirements.
