123inkt: Refurbished printers gain momentum

Feb 26, 2024 | 0 comments

123inkt enters the sustainable refurbished printers market as it doubles the reuse green hardware market share to 19%.

123inkt has quietly entered the refurbished printer market by offering refurbished printer leasing services and widening the focus on environmental sustainability.

The growing demand for eco-friendly solutions has more than doubled over the last four years and is now a significant and growing market share. The rise of reused and refurbished hardware in Europe has seen its market share double, now holding a significant 19% stake.

“This trend underscores a broader shift towards sustainability, with businesses and consumers alike increasingly opting for green alternatives.” Said David Connett, a partner at market watchers, Connett & Unland GbR.

Adding, “by providing meticulously revised printers from leading brands, that ensure high performance and reliability, and embodies the principles of the circular economy. This approach not only reduces waste and conserves resources but also presents a cost-effective solution for companies keen on balancing economic and environmental considerations.”

While the overall print market is shrinking, the market for refurbished hardware in Europe signals an ongoing change in consumer behaviour, prioritising longevity and environmental impact over the novelty of new products, marking a significant stride towards a more sustainable and responsible global market.
