October 5, 2023Print Head Movement
As with thermal inkjet printers, there are two options where either the print head moves across the paper, depositing the ink droplets in precise patterns to create the final image or text. Or, page-wide ink printing, also known as fixed print head technology, is a relatively newer and innovative approach to inkjet printing. Where print head spans the entire width of the paper, covering the entire printing area in a single pass. The print head does not move during the printing process but remains stationary while the paper is fed through the printer.
Piezoelectric inkjet printers offer several advantages, including greater flexibility in ink formulation, the ability to print on a wider range of media, and lower operating costs due to more efficient ink usage. However, they are generally more expensive upfront compared to thermal inkjet printers.
It’s worth noting that inkjet printer technology is continuously evolving, and there may be newer advancements beyond my last update. Always check with the manufacturer or recent sources for the latest information on inkjet printer technologies.
