Lexmark announces 1,000 global layoffs

The OEM has revealed plans to institute approximately 1,000 global layoffs, representing about one ninth of its worldwide workforce.

As US News reports, Lexmark is planning to cut approximately 1,000 jobs over the next year as part of its latest restructuring of the printer company.”

According to the OEM, this restructuring “is needed to align its workforce with its strategy to ensure the company’s future success.” It also said it would not be offering any specific indications of the locations where these cuts will occur, adding that it “currently has about 9,000 employees globally.”

These layoffs follow on from approximately 700 job cuts implemented by the company last year.
