ECS explains remanufacturing’s customer advantages

Apr 23, 2018 | 0 comments

Effective Consumable Solutions (ECS) has published a new blog highlighting the benefits of remanufacturing from a customer’s point of view.

Despite being in the business of remanufacturing, ECS’ Jack Anderson argues that “there is much more to it than our own gain,” adding that customers “will benefit a lot more from a remanufactured product than you might think.”

Anderson gives three key areas of benefit, the first being lower prices; he argues that “typically, remanufactured products cost 30-60 percent less than an original product, which provides you, the customer, with a huge saving.”

Citing availability as the second key benefit, he points out that “remanufactured products usually have a shorter lead time than your originals, meaning that you can get what you want, when you want it.” Anderson also adds that whereas OEM products are often discontinued, the remanufactured alternative “can still be produced years after the original is no longer available.”

Finally, Anderson highlights the flexibility of remanufactured products, adding that ECS and other similar companies “are usually interested in the final destination of their product, and usually offer a service in addition to the initial sale of the product, such as a take-back scheme.”
