TD SYNNEX announced the acquisition of Apptium, a software development company and provider of a cloud commerce platform that connects applications, data, and devices worldwide.
StreamOne is the foundation of TD SYNNEX’s digital business orchestration strategy, giving partners control over data-driven decisions, customer insights, and solution aggregation. Prior to the acquisition, Apptium was a key partner and supporter of the StreamOne platform, and combining this technology with its industry and technical expertise will further accelerate the platform’s development, the company said.
The acquisition will also enhance TD SYNNEX’s ability to accelerate solutions that help providers and customers better serve their stakeholders. It will also enable Apptium to better serve its existing and new customers.
“Rick Kapani and his team have built a transformative platform that is already having a significant impact on the orchestration of our own solutions. Bringing this technical expertise to TD SYNNEX will enable us to execute on our strategy and continue to invest in serving our customers as well as Apptium’s new customers,” said Patrick Zammit, CEO of TD SYNNEX. “Through this platform, we will strengthen support for our ecosystem partners and expand our addressable market in the coming years.”
Apptium is the developer of a Platform-as-a-Service offering that enables enterprises to seamlessly adopt and implement marketplaces. It focuses on configuration, not code, to support accelerated implementation, streamlined management, and faster time to revenue. The platform enables enterprises to deliver e-commerce and cloud-managed services through an omnichannel approach.
“This acquisition is fantastic news for both TD SYNNEX and Apptium’s vendors and customers, as it will increase the value of our platform and the depth of our offering,” said Rick Kapani, founder and CEO of Apptium. “It’s also a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team members in making Apptium the company it is today.”
In addition to supporting StreamOne, Apptium brings a comprehensive suite of products, integrations, and features that will benefit TD SYNNEX customers and vendors and expand opportunities for new segments. With its robust billing/subscription management platform, the Apptium platform addresses the challenges of subscription- and consumption-based IT service models and simplifies the management of multiple cloud providers on a single platform.
Michael Görner, Vice President Advanced Solutions & Maverick at TD SYNNEX DACH, is convinced: “This will not only accelerate the further development of the StreamOne Ion cloud platform, but also align it even more precisely with the needs of our customers and partners. Our own IP is the key to digital sovereignty. With complete control over our platform technology, we can respond more quickly to market changes, develop new features with agility, and offer our customers the highest levels of security, flexibility, automation, and innovation leadership.”
As a wholly owned subsidiary of TD SYNNEX, Apptium will continue to operate as an independent organisation to preserve and maintain its entrepreneurial culture and the pace of product innovation it has established in the market.
Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Reston, Virginia, Apptium has a team of IT experts and centres of excellence across three continents, serving brands from more than 20 countries in the enterprise, serving B2B and B2C. Apptium’s technical and business expertise, combined with its industry-leading platform, has won multiple awards for meeting customer needs in marketplace onboarding, multi-cloud support and billing, catalogue management, fulfilment, subscription management, and analytics and reporting.
Founder Rick Kapani will continue to lead the company as General Manager and Senior Vice President, reporting to Chief Strategy and Technology Officer Sergio Farache. Apptium will continue to serve its existing customers through the Apptium Cloud Commerce Platform.
