Office supplier Lyreco steps up sustainable transformation across packaging, products and procurement systems.
Lyreco, the European office supplies and workplace solutions group, has unveiled an update on its five-year circular economy strategy, highlighting strong progress and setting new sector standards ahead of 2025.
Under its Circular Economy Pledge, launched in 2020, Lyreco reports that over 90% of its product families now include at least one recyclable item. The company has also removed all single-use plastics from its premises in alignment with the EU Single-Use Plastics Directive.
By the end of this year, 67% of Lyreco’s product range will feature recyclable packaging, with a core focus on its Sustainable Selection range. This line is evaluated using a methodology certified by SGS and aligned with ISO 20400 guidelines, extending beyond recyclability to include features like remanufacturing and compostability.
In parallel, Lyreco has partnered with over 40 European organisations to expand take-back and recycling schemes for diverse waste streams, including electronics, batteries, lamps, and coffee capsules. The group says these localised initiatives are essential to support responsible material reintegration.
