HP’s latest firmware going around its PageWide devices has caused upset with users because the “scan-to-email” function stops working.
According to a HP Forum post, one of the users explained that once he updated his Page Wide Pro 477dw to the latest firmware MAVEDWPP1N001.2127A.00, the function “scan-to-email” has stopped working and only the error message on the scanner “debug_msg” appears at the attempt to scan and email a document.
At the beginning of August a workaround solution was established whereby users set up a second standard sender email address or sender address can be set individually for each scan.
