Canon reviews activity on Amazon

Every quarter, Canon announces the total number of listing removals it has sought on the various Amazon sites, below are last quarters.

Canon Inc. announced that in the fourth quarter of 2020, it used the Amazon Reporting Tool, letters of inquiry and/or information letters to successfully remove 2,792 listings from Amazon in Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, France, The Netherlands and Turkey.

Since June 2018, the total number of listings removed from Amazon in Germany, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, France, The Netherlands and Turkey is 11,962.

The listings offered third-party laser toner cartridges from vendors which Canon believes infringed one or more of European Patent No. 2 087 407, European Patent EP 2 137 577 and European Patent No. 1 977 289.

In Canada and the USA during fourth quarter of 2020, Canon said it used Amazon takedown procedures to report infringement based on 391 listings, all of which now have been removed from Amazon in Canada and the United States of America.

Since June 2018, the total number of listings removed from Amazon in Canada, Mexico and the United States of America is 2,558.

The listings offered third-party laser toner cartridges from vendors, which Canon believes infringed one or more of U.S. Patent No. 8,280,278, U.S. Patent No. 8,630,564, U.S. Patent No. 8,682,215, U.S. Patent No. 8,688,008, U.S. Patent No. 8,676,090, U.S. Patent No. 8,588,646, U.S. Pat. No. 9,581,958, Canadian Patent No. 2,635,791, Canadian Patent No. 2,910,527, Mexican Patent No. 308881 and Mexican Patent No. 317598.

In Australia Canon Inc. used the Amazon Reporting Tool and/or letters of inquiry to successfully remove 19 listings from Amazon in Australia.

Since September 2019, the total number of listings removed is 198.

The listings offered third-party laser toner cartridges that Canon believes infringed one or more of Australian Patent Nos. 2014208277 and 2007205464.

Canon added it respects the intellectual property rights of others and will continue to enforce its own intellectual property rights.
